Born in Istanbul in 1950, Ömer Üründül studied Political
Sciences and Business Administration at the Istanbul University
following graduation from Private Saint Benoit French High
School.
His career started in 1977 with a construction materials
marketing company he established under the name Yapımal A.Ş.,
which, besides having 60%-market share of Entegre Kireç Factory,
one of the biggest companies of those years; undertook all
contracted works at the construction stage of the Atatürk Dam as
the main dealer of Nuh Çimento and Göksan Göynük, again the
largest marble factory of the same years.
Moreover, he carried on marketing of scrap iron from the Atatürk
Dam through Hurdemir Ltd Sti. he established in 1987. The
company was also a dealer of Ereğli Demir Çelik Fabrikası
(Steelworks). Ömer Üründül actually worked in those two
companies, which were closed in 1993 upon completion of the
Atatürk Dam construction.
Being a shareholder and director at the companies Burger King
and Ytong Turkey, Ömer Üründül is also a founding shareholder
and currently in office as a director at Sedko İnşaat A.Ş. and
Üründül Enerji Yatırımları A.Ş., operating in the sectors of
construction, food, entertainment and, in particular, energy.
Also known as a sports commentator he undertakes as a hobby,
Ömer Üründül is married and father of 2 boys and a girl.
